Changes included in release 7.5 which are affecting following roles are as follows:
Students will see a much clearer breakdown of points distribution between auto-graded and instructor graded questions which will display on the right side of the assessment object. As the student takes the quiz, the auto-graded points will update automatically on the scoreboard whereas the instructor-graded points will show as 0 and lets students know that they will be assigned later whenever instructor grades them.
The points here reflect the points assigned to the questions in the quiz and not the total score on the object. These points act as a weighted score of the total object score.
Due Date Extension
Instructors can extend the due date at the class level which will affect all students and also each student at an individual level.
The date will be available to pick from current date onwards.
The changed new due date will display on the object overlay and also display assignments with the new due date on the dashboard calender.
If its an object with TBA, picking a date, the functionality stays as before and will not be treated as a due date extension, but the first time instructor picks a date, will behave like before, but then the next time if instructor changes a date will
(i)The class due date is extended by editing the ending date below which will then open up a popup window for the instructor to pick a new due date and provide a reason for extension.
This will send an email alert to Instructor and copy the LF on it, providing the reason for the extension, and will also email students informing them that there has been a due date extension made.
(ii) Based on the need, the instructor can extend an individual student's due date, and this extension is availble inside hub under each student's name, pointed as in the picture below. Clicking the icon will extend the window and let the instructor pick date and a reason for extension.
If a student was given an extension and also there has been a class extension, then the farther date takes precedence for the student.
An email will be sent to student letting them know about the change and will copy the instructor on it. The reason for extension is only copied in the emails to LF and instructor not to the students.
Days of the week in the Date Tool
For an object in design mode, the dropdown list in a date tool will also list days of the week in addition to offsets.
There will be a message display in a running course that will inform users about the timezone information that the dates will use.
