Adding a Training User

If a new user needs access to both instructor and student views in BQ with a single sign on access, they should be entered into the system as a training user. The feature is available in the Admin Tool. 



Once the dual role access is granted, the user will notice a switch button to jump between the views.

If it's an existing user as a student or an instructor, and they needed access to the other role, they can be given the dual access using the training user form. There will be a few validation cases that need to be considered, as follows-

1. The system looks for the username first. If it finds a match, then it retrieves existing user details, such as first name, last name, email, password and adds a new role for that user. The user details that were entered on the training user form will be ignored.

2. If the username entered on the training user form is unique in BQ, but the email address is not, then the system will throw an exception saying that the user with that email already exists. The admin will have to correct the information and try again. 

3. If the username and email address are both unique, then system treats it as a new user and provides dual role access to both the views. 


If a staff needs to be granted instructor and student roles, they can be simply added as a training user. The admin will need to make sure for the above validation rules.

After a training user is added, the admin can follow the same procedure to enroll them into classes.
